Daytona Beach, FL – The new reports from the Daytona Beach Multiple Listing Service shows that the area’s condo prices fell hard in June.
According to the data analyzed by Wyse Home Team Realty in Port Orange, there was a substantial median price drop compared to condo sales in May. A total of 146 units were sold in the Daytona Area in June with a median sales price of $175,100.
That price is more than 15% lower than the $207,000 median price in May. It’s also 15.8% lower than the median price in June of 2018.
Sales totals and sales volume were also down in both monthly and annual comparisons according to the MLS data. In fact, the sales volume was down by more than $5 million, compared to May.
In annual comparisons, volume was down by $1.8 million.
“I would have liked to see some growth in sales and median prices in June,” said Ron Wysocarski, Broker and CEO of Wyse Home Team Realty. “But sales and prices were steady compared to last year, and that’s still a good thing.
Year-to-date, sales and median prices for the first half of 2019 are nearly level with the first six months of 2018.
Although June did have some highlights, according to Wysocarski. He said that vacation condo sales around the area were quite strong for the month, with condotel sales and median prices both up notably over what was seen in May.
“It’s a good indication that the local real estate market is still on strong footing,” he commented.
