Woman's Body Found On Boat Five Days Later

Daytona Beach, FL - The body of a woman Daytona Beach Police have been looking for since June 5 has been found.

DBPD says 31-year-old Nikki Shriver was found on a sailboat that was burned at Halifax Harbor Marina on June 5.

Shriver's body was found yesterday (June 10) lying on a bench underneath a large cushion while the vessel was being inspected by the State Fire Marshal's Office for the arson portion of the investigation.

DBPD said that first responders did not find Shriver's body during the initial investigation, in part because it wasn't easily visible due to fire damage in the area where the body was found.

Investigators found Shriver's body when they moved the cushion during the arson investigation. The body was visible once the cushion was removed.

The initial autopsy report showed that soot was found in Shriver's lungs. At this point in the investigation, there are no signs of foul play.

DBPD says body camera video on this case will be made available, most likely sometime tomorrow.

This is a developing story.
