AdventHealth Orlando To Hold COVID-19 Vaccination For Those With Sensory Issues

Posted

Orlando, FL - AdventHealth Orlando is holding a sensory-friendly COVID-19 vaccination event next week. The goal is to help people ages 12 and older with developmental disabilities or any other sensory issues who may find it difficult to be vaccinated in open or crowded public spaces. This could include those with autism, anxiety, ADHD, or Down’s syndrome.

The event will be on June 3 at AdventHealth Orlando, located at 601 E. Rollins St., with appointments starting at 10 a.m. and running until 4 p.m.  You can register at centracare-scheduling.adventhealth.io

Parents and siblings who are eligible for the vaccine are welcome to get vaccinated along with the person with sensory issues but each person should have an individual registration.

At this time, AdventHealth-Central Florida Division External Communications Manager Jeff Grainger says "there are no residency restrictions with the event in Orlando, anyone is welcome. If there is demand, we’ll look at adding additional events."
