Daytona Beach, FL - New security technology helps catch a would-be burglar almost in the act in the Daytona Beach area. Volusia County Sheriff's deputies arrested 37-year-old Frank Johnson on Wednesday. Johnson was dressed as an air-conditioner repairman when he was caught on camera trying the doors on a home. No one was there but the homeowner got a phone alert from his security system and was able to directly speak to Johnson, saying, "The cops are on the way."
It happened just before 10 a.m. Within minutes the homeowner was sharing images of the suspect and his vehicle with the Volusia County Crime Center. At 11:23 a.m. a deputy spotted Johnson's vehicle and he was arrested. The Port Orange man was taken to the Volusia County Jail. He's charged with nine counts total, with a bond of $28,000.
