DeLand, FL - Update:  The victim remains hospitalized at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, not Halifax Health. Update: Police in DeLand have arrested the woman accused of hitting a pedestrian with her vehicle and speeding off. Rosa Liva Flores, 53, of DeLand was arrested at 2:36 PM on March 17, several hours after she allegedly crashed her vehicle into a woman near the intersection of S Florida and W Hubbard Avenues. Orange City Police spotted the vehicle at the Walmart on Veterans Memorial Pkwy and informed the DeLand PD. The arresting officer noted that the car was parked there in a possible attempt to elude law enforcement.  Police processed the unoccupied vehicle and contacted the registered owner, Daniel Flores. He told them that the vehicle belonged to his wife, Rosa. OCPD contacted Rosa Flores at her work and she was transported to the Walmart. The vehicle was sealed using evidence tape and was transported to the indoor secure vehicle facility. Rosa Flores was arrested and transported to the Volusia County Jail. She's being charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury and her bond was set at $5,000.
