DeLand, FL - A 34-year-old Orlando woman wreaked havoc in the yard of a DeLand tow company Tuesday afternoon.

A VCSO deputy was flagged down by one of the owners of Dixon Towing at around 2 p.m. The deputy observed a female driver, Angel Jenkins, behind the wheel of a white Mitsubishi, continuously ramming the perimeter fence, according to the arrest report.

Other officers arrived on scene and all of them gave commands for Jenkins to exit the vehicle. She ignored the commands and kept ramming the fence, this time toward one of the officers, who managed to hide behind a nearby tree. Eventually, one of the officers used his baton and broke the front passenger window. That finally got Jenkins attention. She exited the vehicle, complied with the officers' commands and was arrested. Jenkins is charged with Grand Theft Auto and Aggravated Battery to Cause Bodily Harm or Disability. According to the police report, one of the owners told the deputies the car had been at the yard since July 12. He told Angel Jenkins that she needed to pay the tow fee before he would release the car. She told him that her wallet was in the vehicle and there was money in it. When the owner escorted Jenkins to the vehicle and opened the door, she demanded the vehicle, got in it and started it up. That's when the owner said she drove at him and hit him, causing him to go into the air, landing on his back and head. Someone had blocked the gate with a pickup truck. Jenkins drove at the gate and hit the pickup truck too. Witnesses at the scene gave deputies the same version of the story. To compound matters, deputies completed a search of the vehicle and found a small, clear plastic bag containing a white powder in the driver's door pocket. The drug test kit yielded presumptive positive for Methamphetamine. Jenkins is currently out on bond in Orange County for burglary/battery/grand theft, per the report.
