Woman Charged With DUI After Injuring Driver During Multi-Car Crash In Daytona

Daytona Beach, FL – A woman was arrested after she struck and critically injured another motorist while driving under the influence of alcohol on Williamson Blvd. At around 9:30 PM on Sunday, police arrived at the intersection of Williamson Blvd. and Strickland Range Road in response to a multi-vehicle accident. Police determined that Kathlene Elizabeth Cutlip, 23, was driving southbound on Williamson Blvd. behind a vehicle stopped and waiting to turn left onto Strickland Range Road. John Frederick Salter, 30, was driving northbound on Williamson Blvd. towards the intersection in front of another vehicle. Cutlip then drove southbound in the northbound lane of Williamson Blvd. and struck Salter head-on. The vehicle behand Salter was also struck by the front of Cutlip’s vehicle. That collision then caused the rear of Cutlip’s vehicle to strike to driver waiting to turn left at the intersection. Cutlip was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken to the Daytona Beach Police Department to undergo a DUI investigation. Salter was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. The other drivers were taken to Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, however, they were not seriously injured. Charges of DUI causing serious bodily injury to another person, DUI with damage to a person or property and child neglect have been brought against Cutlip.
