Daytona Beach, FL - A radio veteran who has served his community on the air wraps it up after 40 years behind the mic.
WNDB's Dave Laing ends his 40 years of service to the Daytona Beach area as an on-air personality and Program Director with WNDB. Dave (left) began his time at WNDB back on August 1st, 1978. Since that time he has been a host on many different morning shows on WNDB including the "Dave and Kelly Morning Show" with Kelly McCarthy, "Dave and Friends" with Shannon Pierce and Vance Tyler, "Wake Up Daytona" with Rozzie Franco and Mark Williams (photo below courtesy of CFLRadio.net) and "Daytona's Morning News" with Greg Blose and Al Smith. A notable part of Dave's career came during the 2004 hurricane season when the state of Florida was hit by four major hurricanes. Dave was behind the mic each time offering support and a calming voice, taking phone calls for residents throughout the storms.
He spoke with the morning crew on Bennett & Bernier and detailed his plans for retirement. Click below to play the full interview.
