Winter Storm Cancels American Flights From DBIA

Daytona Beach, FL - The major winter storm which has put parts of the Southeastern United States in a deep freeze is also affecting Daytona Beach International Airport.

Officials at the Volusia County-run airport say all American Airlines flights from DBIA to Charlotte have been canceled.

Delta flights to Atlanta remain on its normal schedule, according to the DBIA flight tracker.

It's not clear at this point when American flights will resume since parts of North Carolina and Virginia have seen more than a foot of snow because of the storm system coming through.

That front is also the reason why temperatures locally are cooler than normal and will remain that way for at least a few days, according to the National Weather Service.

Hundreds of thousands of people have lost power because of the storm, with at least one death reported.
