Volusia County Schools Get Ready To Participate In Digital Learning Day

Volusia County, FL - Volusia County teachers and students are gearing up to participate in Digital Learning Day, which highlights outstanding digital teaching practices. Digital Learning Day takes place Thursday, February 22, and the event showcases innovative teachers and leaders who encourage digital learning and instructional technology programs which play a role in increasing student achievement in the digital age. Digital Learning Day was started in 2012. It is a nationwide celebration which focuses on the instruction behind classroom technology and aims at enhancing the role of the teacher in 21st-century classrooms. Volusia County school officials say that, as part of Digital Learning Day, Volusia County Schools will be hosting its second annual technology P.L.A.Y.D.A.T.E. (People Learning and Asking Y: Digital Age Teacher Exploration). The event will take place from 5 PM until 7 PM on Thursday in the media center at DeLand High School, located 800 North Hill Ave. The event gives teachers, administrators, and district staff a chance to collaborate and to learn more about EdTech apps, programs, and tools.
