Daytona Beach, FL - An 18-year-old man already in the Volusia County Jail since March 2019 now has a felony charge of making written threats to kill. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reports that Ethan Russell made threats to bomb several government facilities and other major facilities.

Russell handed a jail officer a note saying he planned to bomb several locations, including the White House, the Capitol building, the Pentagon, Orlando International Airport, the Amway Center, Daytona International speedway and the Volusia County Courthouse in DeLand.

Jail officers contacted the Sheriff's Office about the five-page handwritten note detailing Russell's plan to join ISIS, the Taliban, and al-Qaeda and start bombing his targets.

Russell has been at the Volusia County Jail since March 25, 2019. He's in custody awaiting trial on felony charges from an incident in Deltona, where a neighbor witnessed him throwing a rock through a window in an attempt to break-in. Deputies caught Russell with seven large knives, a green mask and a pair of gloves. He was wearing an electronic monitoring device when he was arrested.
