Volusia County, FL – Volusia County is working with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to help Hurricane Irma victims receive Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP) through Food for Florida.
From 7 AM to 6 PM on Wednesday, October 4 through Sunday, October 8, Hurricane Irma victims struggling with food are encouraged to go to the Volusia County Fairgrounds located at 3150 East New York Ave., DeLand to determine D-SNAP eligibility.
To be eligible for D-SNAP, you must:
- Have lived or worked in one of the 48 counties declared eligible for D-SNAP on September 5
- Sustained disaster-related damage or loss such as reduction or loss of income, loss of food, damage to home or to self-employment workspace or suffered other disaster-related expenses
- Have an ID, asset and income information for everyone in the household
- Not be currently receiving SNAP benefits
It is recommended that you apply online to get your eligibility status determined quickly. You can apply online
here. Only one EBT card will be issued per household and only applicants need to attend.
