VCSO Rounds Up Several Suspects In Daytona For Selling Drugs

Daytona Beach, FL - On Monday, Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) announced a drug warrant roundup that put nine people in Daytona Beach behind bars, including a local BP gas station owner and a man accused of selling drugs less than 400 feet from a school. VCSO's “Operation Clean Slate” began Thursday in response to numerous investigations that have been underway since early 2017, targeting the sale of cocaine, pills, and other narcotics on the county’s east side. Similar efforts are continuing throughout Volusia County. One of those arrested during “Operation Clean Slate” was 49-year-old Mohammed Chowdhury, the owner of a Daytona Beach BP gas station that allegedly sold synthetic marijuana. Another man arrested in the bust was a 25-year-old man who is accused of selling hashish from an apartment less than 400 feet from a Montessori preschool and kindergarten facility. For video provided by VCSO, click here. Mohammed Chowdhury, 49, of Port Orange, is. the owner of the BP at 1094 Derbyshire Rd. in Daytona Beach. He was arrested on two counts of selling synthetic marijuana.

Joshua Shelton, age 25, of Daytona Beach was arrested for armed trafficking in Hydrocodone, sale of hashish within 1,000 feet of a child-care facility, and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence.

Alex Thomas, age 22, of Daytona Beach, was arrested on multiple charges, including sale of  Hydromorphone.

Isaac J. Pease, age 22, of Daytona Beach was arrested for sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a convenience business and unlawful use of a 2-way communication device to commit a felony (2 counts).

Marlene (Marline) Carey, 43, of Daytona Beach, was arrested for sale of cocaine.

Kenshun D. Foster, 45, of Daytona Beach, was arrested for sale of cocaine and unlawful use of a 2-way communication device to commit a felony.

Jordan Crews, 27, of Daytona Beach, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence.

Kaitlin Young, 20, of Daytona Beach was arrested for armed grand theft and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence.

Adam Furniturewala, 28,  of Daytona Beach, was arrested for two counts of sale of LSD and unlawful use of a 2-way communication device to commit a felony. His mugshot is unavailable.

Additionally, Josiah A. Humphrey, 26, of Daytona Beach, was already in custody at Volusia County Branch Jail on other charges including sale of crack cocaine, sale of Hydromorphone, and unlawful use of a 2-way communication device to commit a felony. His bond was revoked on charges of selling cocaine and heroine.
