Cape Coral, FLUpdate: The man and woman suspected of breaking into a Deltona family's home have been arrested in Cape Coral. Cape Coral Police got a tip that the suspects, Steven Prewitt and Dawn Robey, were at Robey's home. Police surveilled the home and spotted Prewitt leaving the garage. He was taken into custody without incident. Robey came out of the home a few minutes later and was also arrested without incident. Earlier Reporting: Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) is looking for an armed man who they say broke into his estranged family's Deltona home with his girlfriend, struck his sister with a pistol, and stole a handgun and iPhone from the home. 46-year-old Steven Prewitt and 46-year-old Dawn Robey, from Cape Coral, are accused of breaking into Prewitt's estranged relatives' home on Baffin St. in Deltona at around 2 PM on Sunday. Prewitt has not lived in Deltona or at the home in five years, VCSO says. The sister was at home at the time, and she reported to deputies that she saw her brother breaking into the house. Laura Williams, Public Information Officer for VCSO, says Prewitt was looking for his mother, who lives at the home but was not there at the time of the break-in. Williams adds Pruitt may have wanted to confront the family about a dispute. Prewitt allegedly picked up his mother's pistol and struck his sister in the head and neck with it. The sister reported that, at one point, her brother tried to choke her to the point where she nearly passed out. Prewitt then grabbed his mother's shotgun, pointed it at his sister, and chased the sister out of the house, VCSO says. Prewitt and Robey were seen fleeing the scene in Robey’s black Jeep Wrangler (FL tag BVMF89). When the mother returned home, she and the sister went to a nearby convenience store because they said they were afraid Prewitt would return. The sister was treated by rescue personnel for multiple lacerations and bruises Deputies say Prewitt and Robey are armed with a .380-caliber handgun that they stole during the burglary. They were last seen in the Lake County area.  The two are wanted for armed burglary with battery, grand theft of a firearm, and false imprisonment in the incident over a family dispute, VCSO says anyone with more information about the case should call 9-1-1. "We rely on the community to be our eyes and ears, and in a case like this, these people committed a violent crime, and we would just like (the community's) help, if possible to locate these individuals," Williams says.
