DeLand Man Who Allegedly Abused 3-Year-Old, Put Her In Oven, Turns Himself In

DeLand, FLUpdate: Wanted child abuser Terry May, who allegedly put a 3-year-old girl into an oven, has turned himself in. He's being held at the Volusia County Jail on $50,000 bond. Earlier Reporting: Volusia County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the DeLand man who allegedly abused a 3-year-old girl and put her in an oven. Detectives are looking for Terry L. May, 45, of Lenox Court. The child abuse charge against him carries a $50,000 bond. On Thursday, the 3-year-old victim told deputies and an investigator from the state Department of Children and Families that May frequently hit her with a belt. She had several visible injuries including a burn injury on her ear, bruises on the top of her head and forehead, a 6-inch scar on her back, as well as bruises and deep cuts on her feet, hands, and leg. After a medical exam, the victim told the investigator from the DCF that May had put her in an oven. Authorities haven't been able to find May up to this point but deputies are still searching.
