VCSO Looking For Dangerous Transient In Oak Hill Area

UPDATE: (08-30-19) - Paul Thompson, wanted for striking a man in the neck with a machete last week, was captured overnight in Edgewater. VCSO said a citizen reported seeing Thompson. They found him at his girlfriend, Juanita Long's, house on Douglas Street. She was also arrested for resisting a law enforcement officer without violence. She had been contacted by deputies several times over the past week and denied knowing Thompson's whereabouts.

Oak Hill, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate a man they say struck a male victim in the neck with a machete, causing serious injuries. Deputies say the man, 41-year-old Paul Thompson, is a transient who frequents Oak Hill riding a bicycle.

The incident with the machete took place earlier this week. A current description of Thompson is as follows: he was last seen shirtless, wearing dark shorts and now has a shaved head. He is a white male, about 5'8" to 5'10" inches tall. Thompson is considered armed and dangerous.
