VCSO Launches Search For Inmate Who Fled From His Work Detail In DeBary

DeBary, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) is searching for an inmate who left his work detail Monday afternoon in DeBary. At around 12 PM, 19-year-old Trayvion Stephens separated from the rest of a work crew near 26 Florence Blvd. Officials say he was wearing dark green pants and a lime green “VCDC" shirt. Stephens was in custody as a result of a trespassing in an occupied structure charge. Anyone with information on Stephens’ whereabouts is urged to call 911. According to the Laura Williams, Public Information Officer with the VCSO, the following locations were put on lockdown due to the incident: The Ladybird Academy of DeBary (204 Saxon Blvd., DeBary), Sunrise Academy (2700 Enterprise Rd., Orange City), an office building (2700 Enterprise Rd., Orange City), Florida Hospital Fish Memorial (1055 Saxon Blvd., Orange City), and Hospice of Volusia/Flagler (1625 Veterans Memorial Pky., Orange City). FHFM remains on lockdown, however, the lockdown on the two academies’ have been lifted.
