VCSO Investigating 2 Drive-By Shootings At A Deltona Home That Injured A Man

Deltona, FL – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) is investigating a shooting in Deltona that sent a man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

On Saturday night around 8:30 PM, shots were fired into the home at 1199 Lawrence Ave. Rashadd J. Griffin, 29, was shot at several times while sitting in his garage.

After being stuck by a bullet in the abdomen, Griffin yelled for help. A witness heard him and was able to wrap him in a towel and take him to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City. Griffin was later taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.

At 1 AM on Sunday, a couple of hours after the first incident, deputies responded to reports of another shooting at the same residence. 2 more shots were fired into the home and deputies were able to see bullet holes near the front door and on a couch inside.

Both drive-by shootings are under investigation by the VCSO but no other information is currently available.
