Deltona, FL A 3-year-old boy is dead after drowning at a home in Deltona near Lyonia Preserve.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says Connor Smith was found at the bottom of an above-ground pool at 1472 Elkcam Boulevard in Deltona on Saturday.

They received a 911 call from his mother saying they found him unresponsive at the bottom of the pool. During that call, the 911 operator relayed CPR instructions to the uncle until the call was disconnected.

A deputy arrived at around 3:48 p.m. to find Smith being brought to the front-door for Deltona Fire and Rescue, who was unable to revive the child.

Smith's uncle told VCSO that they last saw him 10 minutes prior to finding him in the pool.

Smith was transported by EVAC to Florida Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City where he was officially pronounced dead close to 5 p.m.

No charges are anticipated, according to VCSO spokesperson Andrew Gant.
