Deltona, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) is investigating after a Deltona man says that three men invaded his home and that one of the men pistol-whipped him and demanded money. Deputies responded to 142 Lullwater St. in Deltona at around 10:36 PM on Sunday. A 34-year-old man told deputies that he had answered a knock at the back door of his home. That's when he says the three men forced their way into the home. The victim claims one of the men struck him on the head with a pistol, according to VCSO. The suspects ordered the victim's wife and children into one of the bedrooms, but the wife and children were not injured. The 34-year-old man was treated at the scene for an abrasion to his head, VCSO says, but there were no other reported injuries. The suspects fled with a television, jewelry, and cash. VCSO continues to investigate the case, and more information will be released when it becomes available. Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2018.
