Volusia County, FL - At the end of a warm December we can expect a few days of cooler weather leading into the new year - and that cooler weather should help clear the sea fog that's been hanging around.

According to Randy Lascody, Senior Forecaster at the National Weather Service in Melbourne, temperatures will start dropping on Thursday night and will stay cooler until Saturday. "Late Thursday night and into Saturday we're gonna have some temperatures that will probably go into the 40s." He expects daytime highs to struggle to reach 60 on Friday.

Highs on New Year's Eve are expected to be in the mid-60s with lows in the low to mid-50s overnight. Lascody doesn't expect any rain to interfere with New Year celebrations.

And according to Lascody, as it gets cooler and drier out the sea fog that's been plaguing our area should dissipate.
