Daytona Beach, FL - Two women who stole someone's purse and sped off with a one-year-old child in their car are being charged by police.

Daytona Beach police responded to the McDonald's on 1376 W. International Speedway Boulevard near Mainland High School and Daytona State College after reports of a grand theft around 2:45 p.m. Monday.

It's then they learned 26-year-old Danielle Proctor (left) and 23-year-old Jamie Morse (right) stole a woman's purse as she was eating inside.

The narrative from the victim says Morse was the one who stole the purse before jumping into a car driven by Proctor.

Police then put out an alert for a small black vehicle, and it was not long afterward when an officer reported a vehicle matching the description driving on West ISB. The officer then followed them onto I-95 North.

When the duo was pulled over by police, officers noticed a purse that matched the description as well as a one-year-old boy. When they transported the victim to the scene on I-95, she identified Morse and her purse.

Police noted the pair's actions and erratic driving put the boy's life in danger.

After the two were arrested, police found a narcotics bundle that included a spoon with residue, a used needle as well as string and a cotton swab.

Daytona police then returned to the McDonald's and were able to obtain surveillance footage given to them by the manager. That footage shows Morse running off with the purse to the getaway vehicle driven by Proctor, according to the arrest report.

Proctor and Morse were both charged with grand theft, possession of heroin, and child neglect. Proctor was also charged for violating her probation related to a 2016 fraud charge.
