Daytona Beach, FL - Police need the public's help in finding the two men who robbed a Mason Avenue convenience store with a gun.
The robbery happened around 5 a.m. on Saturday (June 15th).
According to Daytona Beach police, one of the employees at the store said he was sweeping the floors at the entrance when two masked males dressed in dark hoodies approached him from the southwest corner of the building.
He described both males to the best of his ability to officers. The employee said one of the suspects was a short heavyset male, around 5'0" and 5'5" tall, wearing a black hoodie and black pants, with a blue bandana covering his face, armed with a semiautomatic pistol.
The other suspect was described as a taller slim male, around 5'10" or 5'11", wearing a dark blue hoodie, black jeans with a black mask or bandana covering his face, with a green and white flower pattern book bag.
Messod Bendayan, the Public Information Officer with the Daytona Beach Police Department, says that both suspects were covered up enough that no skin could be seen.
After entering the store, the shorter male pulled out his pistol and pushed it into the employee's stomach, while stating "we're about to rob the store," before asking where the safe was.
The suspects then forced the employee to the counter, where another employee and the register was located. The shorter male held both employees at gunpoint as the robbery took place.
When behind the counter, the shorter suspect looked at the employees and yelled "You got 20 seconds to open it or I'm going to shoot you!"
The second employee opened the register and the taller suspect removed all of the cash, leaving the loose change.
The suspects forced both employees to lay on the floor as they left the store on foot.
While the suspects left the store on foot, officers aren't sure if they continued away on foot or if they used a vehicle.
