Two Port Orange Candidates Headed For June Run-off

Port Orange, FL - The results are in for the Port Orange District One Seat Special Election. Marilyn Ford, the wife of Bob Ford who passed away in December 2018, received 45 percent of the vote, with a tally of 2,480.

The candidate with the next highest total of 999 votes, or about 18 percent, is Leandro Barreiro. The run-off election between Ford and Barreiro is scheduled for June 11, 2019.

The other candidates' totals are as follows: Savannah Weaver with 909 votes, or 17 percent, Jonathan Foley with 756 votes, or 14 percent and Paul Rozar, with 294 votes, which is little above 5 percent of the vote.

There are 44,078 registered voters that were eligible to vote in the election. With 5,465 votes cast, that means only 12.4 percent of eligible voters made it to the polls on Tuesday.
