Daytona Beach, FL - Two men are facing aggravated assault charges after police say one of them fired shots at his girlfriend and a male friend of hers.

The Daytona Beach Police Department has yet to identify those men in this afternoon's (December 16th) incident at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Beach Street.

DBPD spokesperson Lyda Longa says officers responded to the scene around 12:40 p.m., discovering that no one had been hurt.

"The victims told officers that the female had picked up a male at the Citgo gas station at West International Speedway

and Martin Luther King Jr. boulevards," Longa noted. "As the female and her male friend headed east, however, they were followed by the female’s boyfriend."

According to DBPD, the female and her male friend confronted her boyfriend after arriving at Madison and Beach, and that's when police think the boyfriend went back to his vehicle, grabbed a 9-millimeter handgun and fired at his girlfriend and her male friend.

"No one was hit," Longa noted. "The shooter and a passenger he had in his vehicle then bolted from the scene. Police found his car some time later, but the shooter and his passenger were not with the vehicle."

Officers eventually caught up with those men around 5 p.m., placing them both under arrest for aggravated assault with a firearm.

DBPD hasn't released any other information on this case, including the names of the arrested. This article will be updated when they do.
