Volusia & Flagler Counties, FL - Tropical Storm Emily is making its way across the state, bringing rain and wind to Volusia and Flagler Counties. On Monday at around 10:40 AM, Tropical Storm Emily started to make landfall in Tampa and began moving east at 8 mph. Emily will hit Sarasota and Manatee Counties the hardest and southern Brevard County will be the northern border of the storm. Flagler County Emergency Management has said that Flagler County may experience some rain and elevated rip currents and surf, but the storm should stay south. Volusia County Emergency Management says that Volusia will get around a 1/2 inch of rain, as well as some wind.

Florida Governor, Rick Scott, issued a State of Emergency for 31 Counties in Florida including Volusia County but not Flagler County. No warnings or watches have been issued by Volusia or Flagler and no sandbags will be handed out in Volusia. Volusia Emergency Management Director, Jim Judge, says that Tropical Storm Emily will feel like a "normal summer afternoon weather" for most of the area. A flood advisory was issued for southeast Volusia County due to the 1-2 inches of rainfall that have already fallen and the 1-2 inches predicted to fall later.
