Pierson, FL-An FH trooper made a nasty discovery Tuesday when he found a mobile meth lab during a traffic stop in Pierson. The stop happened on US 17 near SR 40.

FHP PIO Sgt. Kim Montes says the trooper stopped the vehicle shortly before noon for an illegal window tint. The trooper saw a glass smoking pipe inside the vehicle commonly used for drugs and detained the driver. Montes says that’s when 32-year -old Jesse Wayne Spence of Pierson told the trooper there was a meth lab in the car.

Volusia County Fire with the hazmat team responded to the scene.

39 grams of suspected meth oil, 5 grams of methamphetamines, along with ingredients and supplies to manufacture methamphetamines were located in the vehicle.

Spencer was arrested on drug charges and on an active warrant for driving with a suspended license. He was booked into VCBJ.
