Daytona Beach, FL - In front of a season-opening sellout crowd, the Daytona Tortguas fall in the ninth inning to a four-run rally.

Last night (April 4th), almost 5,000 fans filed into Jackie Robinson Ballpark, making 2019's opening night one of the biggest in the team's history since the Tortugas' 2015 opening night against the Brevard County Manatees.

The game was mostly scoreless until the Florida Fire Frogs, based out of Kissimmee, broke the 0-0 tie in the top of the seventh.

In the eight, the Tortugas, with men at first and second with no outs, managed to tie up the score once again to make it 1-1.

But, headed into the ninth, the Fire Frogs put a run in scoring position thanks to a walk and a wild pitch.

On a 3-2 count, Fire Frogs first baseman Drew Lugbauer managed to rail a double over the right fielder's head, giving the Fire Frogs a 2-1 advantage.

After a single and another walk loaded the bases, Fire Frogs Right Fielder Istanel Wilson got a base-hit over first. The left-handed outfielder cleared the bases with a three run triple, making it a 5-1 contest.

The Tortugas face the Fire Frogs again tonight at The Jack, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
