Edgewater, FL - US 1/South Ridgewood Avenue is back open in Edgewater as police continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle accident.

The 3-vehicle wreck happened around 12:30 PM Thursday on the northbound side near Volco Road.

Edgewater Police Department Captain Joe Mahoney says the victim - a 67-year-old man from Titusville - was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the outside lane when he was hit by a truck.

"A 2007 Chevrolet pick-up entered the northbound lanes from Volco Road and collided with the motorcycle," Mahoney added. "The motorcycle [then hit] a 1999 Toyota sedan which was stationary at the intersection of South Cory Drive and US 1."

City of Edgewater spokeswoman Jill Danigel says the motorcyclist died at the scene and none of the other drivers involved were hurt.

The Chevy driver is identified as 76-year-old Anthony Pawlak of Port Orange and the Toyota driver is identified as 73-year-old Thomas Kittleman of Edgewater.

The victim's identity isn't being released until officers find next of kin, per Mahoney.

US 1 northbound was closed at Volco until around 6 PM as police processed the crime scene.

It's unclear at this time if charges will be filed against Pawlak.
