Three Adults Charged With Animal Cruelty In Daytona

Daytona Beach, FL - Three adults face charges of animal cruelty. Daytona Beach Police officers responded to a call from a witness today (Jan 3, 2019), reporting that a dog was being abused by a white male, later identified as 48-year-old Timothy Williamson.
The witness said that Williamson chased the dog with a mini baseball bat and that witness heard sounds of beating and yelps from the dog coming from the backyard. Upon further investigation, officers found six dogs at a home on Magnolia Street, all either sick or malnourished. Williamson was arrested and faces a felony charge of intentional cruelty to an animal and two misdemeanor charges of neglect. 56-year-old Maria Ebanks faces the same charges. Both Williamson and Ebanks told officers that the dog that was beaten was aggressive with a smaller dog and that was the reason for the beating.  Officers reported that the home had no electricity.  They found no dog food or water bowls anywhere in the residence. Blood spatters covered the floor in the main living area and the home smelled like unclean animals. Another woman, 24-year-old Gardina Bermudez, who does not live at the residence but said one of the dogs at the house was hers, faces one misdemeanor animal neglect charge. All three are in the Volusia County Jail with no bond set.
