DeLand, FL - An event sponsored by the Volusia Water Alliance, the city of DeLand and the Stetson Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience takes place on Saturday (April 27) on West Indiana Avenue in downtown DeLand. Coordinator Sharon Leboffe said that the family-friendly event will feature live mermaids, a live DJ, live music, numerous children's games and activities with a water theme and a blessing of the waters inspired by Native American tradition.
Various non-profit organizationswill be on hand to provide intersting exhibits and information for people of all ages. Dogs are welcome as long as they are well-behaved and on a leash. You can even try your dog on the obstacle course.
