Teens Can Learn To Drive At Volusia County Schools

Volusia County, FL- Enrollment for Drivers Education courses at Volusia County Schools begins later this month. All students currently enrolled in a Volusia County public school, School of Choice, private school or who are in the home-school program, and who are eligible to drive will be given the opportunity to enroll in a drivers education program as seats are available. Students are to register at their zoned high school.

Nancy Wait, Community Information Director said the classes are offered during the fall and spring semesters. She said there is no cost for the program but it is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Wait also said there are benefits to taking the course at school as many insurance companies offer a discount to those that take the course.

Registration for the fall semester Drivers Education program begins on Thursday, August 25 at all high schools. Registration forms can be picked up from each high school’s guidance department beginning on Wednesday, August 24; actual registration begins on the August 25.
