Teen Threatens Victim On Snapchat

Palm Coast, FL - A teen is facing a second-degree felony charge after he made videos threatening to fight another juvenile on Snapchat.

The videos released by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office also show him recording right outside of the victim's house while deputies were there.

Deputies report that they were following up on a previous report related to threats made by one juvenile to another. While a deputy was at the home of the victim, the suspect's vehicle was seen traveling down the road.

Not long after passing the house, the suspect posted two videos on Snapchat, saying he was going to beat the victim and that he was lucky law enforcement was there.

"Look at this (redacted) sitting outside with the cops bro, he's snitching," the suspect said in one of the videos. "If anyone touches him without me touching him, we're going to have to fight too. I got him, none of y'all touch him!"

The deputy was able to view and record the videos before responding to the suspect's address. There, they made contact with their father. The suspect later arrived home and was interviewed by deputies. At that point, deputies determined that the suspect, 17-year-old Adam Wells, was the one who made the Snapchat videos and had intentions of fighting the victim.

Wells was arrested and charged with threatening to do bodily harm, a second-degree felony. He was processed at Flagler County Jail before being transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Daytona Beach.

“Parents – please sit down and discuss this with your children. Fighting is not how you solve disagreements,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a release. “Many times these kids think that there are no consequences to their actions but times have changed – especially with social media. We have a zero-tolerance policy for threats in Flagler County.”

School Resource Deputies and administrators at Matanzas High School were made aware of the incident. However, the threats did not take place on the school campus.
