Teen In Hospital After Palm Coast Gas Station Crash

Palm Coast, FL - Charges are pending as the Florida Highway Patrol investigates an accident which sent a 15-year-old to the hospital in serious condition.

That Palm Coast teenager is now receiving treatment at Halifax Health Medical Center after he was hit by a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado around 10 o'clock last night (November 17th) in the parking lot of the Shell gasoline station on 890 Palm Coast Parkway, just southwest of the Belle Terre Parkway intersection.

According to the FHP report, the teen was riding his bicycle through the east side of the parking lot when he was struck on the left side by the front of the Silverado, knocking him to the ground.

The boy's injuries are not life-threatening and he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, per troopers.

The 31-year-old Palm Coast man driving the Silverado stopped as soon as he hit the teen. He was not injured and didn't appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to FHP.

The report also noted that the Silverado was going between 5 to 10 miles per hour at the time of impact and that the driver wasn't wearing his seat belt at the time.
