Teen Charged With Murder Pleads Not Guilty

Bunnell, FL - The teen that the Flagler County Sheriff's Office says shot and killed 18-year-old Curtis Gray on April 13, 2019, was in a Flagler County courtroom this morning. Marion Gavins, Jr., who turned 18 on May 16, pleaded not guilty to the charge of First-Degree Murder.

FCSO said that witnesses were threatened during the investigation.
Authorities did not give specifics but did mention written threats to kill and witness tampering.

According to FCSO, Gavins was arrested in October 2014 for selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school. He was expelled from school and arrested in 2015 for bringing a kitchen knife onto a school campus, along with violating probation based on his prior arrest. He was also arrested in 2016 for domestic violence.
