Palm Coast, FL - A suspect arrested for breaking into and burglarizing a home was slapped with additional charges after he allegedly threatened to blow up the Flagler County Sheriff's Office and kill Sheriff Rick Staly on Wednesday. Deputies got a criminal mischief complaint on Wednesday morning from a man who said that the window to his Oceanshore Blvd. home was broken, his vehicle's window was smashed and all four tires were slashed, and two chainsaws were taken from that vehicle. Later that day, the two suspects were spotted and stopped by a deputy on patrol on Palm Coast Parkway. Deputies searched the suspects' vehicle and found a knife in the glove compartment and the two chainsaws that were reported stolen. Raymond Crown, 52, and Robert Brandon, 48, were both taken into custody. Initially, Crown was charged with grand theft and felony criminal mischief, while Brandon was charged with felony criminal mischief and resisting arrest without violence. Following the arrests, while they were being taken to the Flagler County Detention Facility, Crown said he was going to blow up the Sheriff's Office and kill Sheriff Staly. He also threatened to shoot Deputy Gaddie, the arresting deputy, and warned Gaddie to watch his back. Because of these threats, Crown was additionally charged with two counts of threats to law enforcement officers and one count of threatening to throw, place, or discharge a destructive device. “We will not take threats of any kind lightly,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Threatening to blow up buildings or kill law enforcement officers for doing their job will not be tolerated. Just this Tuesday, we had funeral services for two Florida deputies that were murdered while eating lunch. Threatening or attacking us will only get you taken to the Green Roof Inn quicker.” Crown is being held at the Flagler County Detention facility without bond while Brandon is being held on $3,000 bond.
