New Smyrna Beach, FL - Police are on the lookout for the gun-wielding wig-wearing man who robbed a restaurant on State Road 44 in broad daylight.

The call for help came just before 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon from the Denny's near Mission Drive in New Smyrna Beach.

The suspect - described as a medium-build black man wearing a curly black wig and a fitted white long sleeve shirt - whipped out a gun at the register while placing an order for seasoned fries and asked for "all the money", according to NSB Police Department Lieutenant Shane Riggle.

"After she handed him an unknown amount, he left the restaurant in a southern direction on foot," Riggle added. "We have been doing an area search with Air One (Volusia County Sheriff's Office helicopter) but have been unable to locate as of now."

NSBPD thinks the man then got in a silver 2018 Toyota Camry hybrid with tinted windows and a temporary Florida tag.

This suspect is also believed to be behind several armed robberies in Central Florida.

Anyone with information is urged to call NSBPD Investigator Daly at 386-424-2251 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
