Suspect Sought In DeLand Bar Shooting

DeLand, FL - Volusia County deputies are actively searching for a 24-year-old they say shot and injured someone at a DeLand bar.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, that man is Wilbert Brown, who is now wanted on aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of aggravated battery, three counts of aggravated assault, aggravated child abuse, shooting into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A judge signed an arrest warrant for Brown just yesterday (September 22nd).

VCSO says that a crowd involved in a large fight reported at Label Bar & Lounge off of South Adele Avenue had dispersed by the time deputies and DeLand police arrived shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday (September 21st).

After checking area hospitals, law enforcement said they found four young women between the ages of 17 and 19 were found to have sustained injuries in the altercation.

The victim who was shot in the calf was able to stand up and walk around, according to VCSO.
