DeLand, FL - A 27-year-old DeLand man told police that he was really drunk on the night of August 4th when surveillance video shows him knocking over planters in downtown DeLand. Taylor Bonner was arrested on August 8 when Special Investigations Unit personnel detained him after recognizing him from an officer's bodycam footage.

Bonner told officers he remembered an officer asking him to leave a bar on W. Georgia Avenue and that he was really angry. He asked officers if he broke something and said, "I won't deny it if someone says I did it." The officers had not yet asked him whether he'd broken anything. When told that two flower pots along Woodland Boulevard were pushed over and damaged, he responded, "It might have been me." Officers reports say that Bonner put his head down and told them that, "I pushed one over."

When asked where he lived, how he got home from Woodland Boulevard and whether he walked through Stetson University, Bonner stated, "I knocked over the pots." He also said, "I got drunk and did some stupid #*&$." Bonner told officers he saw the pictures of the damaged pots on Facebook and knew he was in trouble.

Damage caused by Bonner to city property is estimated at $5,125 and to Stetson University at $500. He's charged with Felony Criminal Mischief - Damage to Property over $1,000. Bonner was taken to Volusia County Jail and has since bonded out on a $2,500 bond.
