DeLand, FL - Stetson University will be holding a celebration of life event on Thursday evening in honor of Nicholas Adam Blakely, the football player who collapsed and died during practice on Monday.
The event will start at 7 PM and will be held in Lee Chapel, Elizabeth Hall, at 421 N. Woodland Blvd., in DeLand. Nick's father and some of his family will be there. They're planning a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, September 6, in Georgia, where Blakely is from.
Officials say Nick was a well-loved member of the Stetson University football team. The team will play this weekend at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.
