Special Needs Assistance Registry Available For Volusia County Residents

DeLand, FL - Volusia County Emergency Management is offering assistance to those with disabilities or functional medical needs during disasters if you register.

The Functional/Special Needs Program is designed specifically to help those that need it when it comes to evacuation and shelter during a hurricane or other disaster.

Participation is on a volunteer basis. The program benefits the residents who need help and emergency officials in planning for them during a disaster.

Special needs shelter evacuees should contact Volusia County Animal Services at 386-248-1790 to discuss assistance for sheltering pets.

Votran provides free transportation for evacuees but those that can not make it to a bus stop must call Votran to arrange transportation.
