Window Smashed

Volusia County, FL- Four DeBary businesses were broken into early this morning. Volusia County Sheriff's investigators say the thieves smashed the windows in the front doors of each business.

Public Information Officer Gary Davidson said the burglars targeted the cash registers but didn't get much for their trouble as all of the cash registers contained little or no money. The businesses broken into are Buzzard's Roost Bar and Goodfella's on Enterprise Road and Bad Boy Computer and The Pub on Volusia Avenue.

DeLand Police reported the suspect vehicle speeding along South Volusia Avenue in Orange City about an hour later. The vehicle pulled over along Enterprise Road and two men jumped out and took off running and got away. The vehicle came back as stolen out of Lake County and investigators are checking the car for clues as to the suspects identities.

The break-ins come less than three weeks after five businesses on Charles R. Beall Boulevard in DeBary were broken into. The cash registers in those businesses were also targeted. Investigators are looking into the possibility that all nine of the burglaries are connected.
