DeLand, Fl - A parachutist was severely injured after falling onto two parked vehicles at Sky Dive DeLand on Saturday.
40-year-old Luis A Lopez-Mendez suffered a compound fracture to his ankle and a fractured femur.
A witness explained that Mendez missed the landing zone while coming down at a fast rate. According to the staff, Mendez was an experienced skydiver.
The parachutist was airlifted to Halifax Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
