Sanford Man Arrested On Volusia Stalking Warrant

Sanford, FL - A 62-year-old Sanford man wanted for his alleged role in two Central Florida stalking cases ends up in handcuffs.

Walter O. Hernandez was arrested on a Volusia County warrant Friday (January 11th) during a traffic stop in Sanford soon after the Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help in finding him.

VCSO spokesperson Andrew Gant says Hernandez apparently approached multiple women in Volusia and Seminole counties and made sexually suggestive comments toward them.

"On Monday (January 7th) in DeBary, a suspect matching the same description as in the Sanford case (posted below) drove up to a young woman on a run in DeBary, followed her and asked to perform a sex act on her," Gant noted.

Investigators are looking into those other reports and may charge Hernandez once their work is done, per Gant.

Anyone who wants to file a report can contact VCSO or Sanford police.
