Sacramento, CA - It seems like Daytona Beach and Mobile have some new competition in their newly formed professional spring football league. A recent tweet from the American Patriot League shows that Sacramento, California is now officially the third city to join the newly formed league, following behind the Alabama city and the World's Most Famous Beach.
Daytona Beach joined the league back in October, becoming the first official team in the APL. About a month later, Daytona Beach announced they were beginning a contest to name the newly formed team as Mobile was announced as the second city to join the APL. A second round of tryouts took place this month in Houston as teams are expected to start creating rosters in mid-January. The contest to name Daytona's team is still going on and ends on December 31st, with the winner getting $1,000 cash and two season tickets. Click here to find out how to submit a name.
