Daytona Beach, FL - In preparation for the 55th Rolex 24 at Daytona Weekend, several teams will be testing the course January 6 through 8 while thousands of boy and girl scouts are camping in the infield.

Teams from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Continental Tire SportsCar challenge will be testing the 3.56-mile road course to prepare for the big event, scheduled for January 26 through 29. Infield-only tickets are available for this Roar Before the Rolex 24 and they cost $15. Garage access is included in that cost and kids under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased at DaytonaInternationalSpeedway.com or by calling 1-800-PIT-SHOP or they can be bought at the gate.

In addition to the testing activities, Daytona International Speedway will be hosting Scout Days. "Great tradition here at the speedway," said Andrew Booth, PR specialist for DIS. "We've been hosting it close to 10 years now, Scout Days, and it's returning once again for the Roar Before the Rolex 24. We're gonna have Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from all throughout the Southeast here. We're expecting more than 2,800 scouts that will be here camping throughout the weekend."

Admission for Scout Days is $40 per person and it includes 2 nights of tent camping (bring your own tents, sleeping bags, and firewood - RV camping is available), $10 in Daytona Dollars, a Speedway tour including a stop at the stadium, a collectible patch, and garage access. Daytona Toyota will have technicians and vehicles on-site to demonstrate basic vehicle maintenance techniques to help scouts earn their Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge.
