Precautionary Boil Water Notice In Port Orange Area

Update- Effective immediately, the precautionary boil water notice in Port Orange for residents on Spruce Creek Road, starting from Taylor Road, has been extended through Wednesday, September 19th. Port Orange, FL -  Port Orange Public Works has issued a precautionary boil water notice for all customers on Spruce Creek Road, starting from Taylor Road South. The notice is due to a water main break on Spruce Creek Road.  It happened around 11 on Sunday evening. The City has put up electronic signs indicating the precautionary boil water notice until the main is fixed.  The leak was isolated around 12:30 a.m. today and the water flow has been stopped. Crews are working to minimize customer impact. Repairs should be completed sometime today, according to Port Orange spokesperson, Christine Martindale. Most customers will experience low water pressure and a few may be out of water until the repairs have been completed.  Check back with NewsDaytonaBeach.com to find out when the notice is lifted.
