Port Orange Police Searching for Burglary and Grand Theft Suspect

Port Orange, FL - Police are searching for a suspect after a burglary at the Port Orange Pavilion.

Around 12:52 pm police were dispatched after reports of a male firing a gun into the air while running through a parking lot next to the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant at 5539 S. Williamson Boulevard.

According to police, witnesses saw a man loading products he was selling at the farmers market into his van when someone opened his passenger door and stole his cash box.

The victim then chased the suspect on foot and fired a single shot into the air. The suspect got into a nearby vehicle and fled the scene, heading north on S. Williamson Boulevard.

The getaway vehicle was described as a white Nissan Altima with a partial Florida tag number of "167." Detectives have responded and are currently investigating the incident. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
