Port Orange, FL - Three people have been arrested in Port Orange after police uncover a methamphetamine lab in a home with two children inside.

With help from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office Meth Response Team, the Port Orange Police Department's Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant this morning for the residence on 3809 Cherry Grove Court. That's in The Groves neighborhood near the intersection of Madeline Avenue and Clyde Morris Boulevard.

"The search warrant was for narcotics, specifically methamphetamines, after the Port Orange Narcotics unit

investigated complaints of drug activity," said POPD Captain Kimberly Kirkpatrick.

Officers tell us at least two grams of meth and 51 grams of meth oil were found in the home, along with two kids, ages 8 and 9. They have since been turned over to the Florida Department of Children & Families.

Below are the names, ages and charges of the three people arrested by POPD. All live in the home, according to Kirkpatrick.

- Amber Cooney (43): Child neglect, possession of listed chemicals for manufacturing methamphetamine in a structure with children under the age of 16, culpable negligence, renting a structure to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

- Floyd R. Phillips (58): Manufacturing methamphetamine in a structure with children under the age of 16, culpable negligence, violation of probation, renting a structure to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia

- James Phillips (60): Manufacturing methamphetamine in a structure with children under the age of 16, culpable negligence, violation of probation, renting a structure to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

It's not clear at this time if Floyd and James are related, nor is it clear who is supposed to have custody of the children.

Mugshots for all three have not been made available yet by the Volusia County Jail.
