Port Orange, FL - The suspect in the gruesome murder of a woman in Port Orange earlier this week has apparently committed suicide. The Port Orange Police Department says a man's body was found around 11 this morning (August 31st) by detectives in a wooded area near West International Speedway Boulevard in Daytona Beach and that it appears to be that of Thomas C. "Tommy" McMullen Junior. "An autopsy will be scheduled in the near future to make positive identification and determine the cause of death," stated a POPD press release issued around three hours after the body was found. "However, at this time, it appears to be a suicide." A GoFundMe page created three days ago has already raised over $7,500 for Diana M. Kessler's funeral service from over a hundred separate donors. Crime Stoppers was offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and conviction. Click here for earlier reporting.
